ADOPTED
Meet Cappuccino, a delightful bundle of bouncy joy wrapped in fur! This 15-week-old Poodle and Bichon Frise mix is looking for a forever home that matches his lively and affectionate personality. He is 13lbs now and will likely be 15 to 17lbs full grown. Though his history may be short, having been one of a litter discarded from a puppy mill, Cappuccino’s enthusiasm is boundless.
Cappuccino is the picture of health. This little guy is up to date on all vaccinations and ready to play, explore, and adventure.
Cappuccino could go to a family with kids if the children are over 8 and understand the do’s and don’ts of a teething puppy. His bite inhibition is quite good, especially for his age, but beware of the occasional “land shark” moment when his excitement overflows! Cappuccino is currently teething and will need a lot of chew toys and supervision to ensure he does not chew the furniture.
He adores other dogs, thriving in their company and eager to engage in playful antics. Cappuccino loves to be with other people and dogs making him a perfect addition to a home with canine siblings. We will be expecting our adoptive families to attend at minimum, level 1 obedience school after. The guidance and lessons learned in obedience classes are very important to getting your pup off to a good start. This breed mix is highly intelligent and preference will be given to those wishing to take on advanced levels of obedience school. The more you can work the brain of this dog, the better he will be!! We take our responsibilities to our dogs very seriously and only want the best for them.
Cappuccino is all in for car rides as it means he’s going with you somewhere! He travels well in a kennel but will cry when left alone in the back of the vehicle during the trip. Cappuccino may experience some motion sickness, so be prepared with kennel bedding.
As Cappuccino navigates the world, his endearing quirks shine through. He is learning the art of crate sleeping, though the early bird in him may sometimes mistake a nighttime noise as a call to start the day. His earnest attempts at conquering stairs are amusing and a testament to his determination. He will need supervision as he grows and explores all that a house has to offer as he currently doesn’t know how to go down a flight of stairs and can quite easily get stuck.
Cappuccino’s personality is a tapestry of playfulness, delight, and adorable clumsiness. He’s a puppy through and through, desiring play over anything else, yet he’s also content to recharge with his toys. Currently, he sleeps around 7 hours at night. He’s learning the art of sleeping through the daytime noise of kids and dogs because this puppy knows the importance of rest to help support his energetic exploits.
Cappuccino is learning about house training, catching on quickly to the location of the back door and attempting to signal his foster family when the need arises. Like most puppies this age, Cappuccino will have a few accidents in the house, but with regular trips outside, walks, and scheduled crate time, he will learn the appropriate place to eliminate. Puppies need to be taken outside for bathroom breaks very regularly when they are small and will not be able to hold it for an 8hr work day. Please keep in mind that if you work from home you need to have a plan in place for a crating schedule for the pup as puppies need 100% of your supervision when not in their crates; you cannot expect to work and have the puppy running around in the room with you as they won’t have your full attention. We are also looking for families that are fully aware of the time commitment of a puppy and the work involved. Puppies are a total joy and bring so much love and happiness into a home, but you cannot underestimate the work and time involved in raising a puppy properly. They need constant supervision while young to expedite the house training stage and to ensure they aren’t chewing on anything inappropriate. We are also looking for a family that will crate train the puppies as we fully believe that this is the best for pups and offers them a quiet and secure “den” to call their own. A crate trained pup is a blessing as it offers a safe place to put them when you can’t be watching them all the time.
Cappuccino’s fur is accented with tiny white tufts on his toes and the tip of his tail, complemented by a charming white patch on his chest and under his chin. His appearance is as unique as his personality, making him irresistible. This breed mix will require a great deal of coat maintenance and grooming and regular visits to a professional groomer will be required. The adoptive family will need to be able to manage this as their coats will continue to grow and become unruly quickly if not groomed. In between grooms this breed mix needs daily brushing and not just skimming the top of the coat; they require brushing down to the skin to ensure that their coat is tangle free and not matted. This coat type matts up easily so dedication and commitment to a dog with grooming requirements that are high maintenance is a must. Not everyone wants to commit the time to daily brushing so be honest with yourself if this is something you are invested in or not.
He is beginning to understand the excitement of new adventures beyond the home whenever a leash comes out; however, his vibrant bark, which can be shrill and loud, is something to consider for those living in apartments. As he matures, his vocal expressions will change. Cappuccino likes to sign in the morning while greeting the family, he is excited to start each day and will express his joy both physically and verbally.
Cappuccino is a treasure waiting to fill a home with laughter, love, and the occasional puppy mischief. He’s searching for a family that cherishes playful energy and is ready to guide him through his puppy milestones. If you believe your home could be the perfect match for this fellow, Cappuccino is more than ready to start his forever adventure with you.
