Happy Tails of PDR Alumni 2020

Kate is an adorable Corgi/German Shepherd puppy who came to us from Manitoba for a better chance at a loving forever home. She had been living outside, fending for herself when she was found by a Manitoba rescue group. We took her in and taught her what a loving home is all about. In the meantime we had a previous adoptive family who contacted us looking for a buddy for their Dachshund X, Wally. Kate is also a stubby legged dog who loves other dogs so we knew she would be an ideal puppy for Wally and his family. Kate is named Phoebe now and she is greatly loved by her family. She adores her big brother and has brought out the puppy in him!

Esther is a darling little Chihuahua who came to us from a shelter where she had been abandoned. She was timid, chubby and under socialized. Her foster family took her in, introduced her to regular exercise and brought her to a healthy weight, showed her that people were kind and loving, and watched her personality blossom. When it came time for Esther to go up for adoption they knew that she had worked her way deep into their hearts and they couldn′t part with her. We are celebrating their ″foster fail″ as we know that Esther has found the perfect home and family!

Beau found his forever family in St. Thomas with a couple looking for a puppy to call their own. Beau charmed them with his cuteness and happy demeanor and it was an immediate love match. Beau is called Zephyr and is settling in well at his new home. He is learning lots of new things and meeting new people and will be starting puppy classes very soon.

Bourbon can go to happy tails with this photo and comment: Bourbon found his very best friend and constant companion with his new dad. These 2 are inseparable and quite the team. They completely adore each other and a strong bond has formed already. Bourbon can go to work with his dad and they go for rides in the truck all the time. Bourbon even gets to visit a barn regularly. We are so happy that Bourbon has such a great life now and will never be abandoned again.

Taffy can go to happy tails with these photos and the one I attached with this comment: Taffy found her perfect fit with a woman in London who works on a dairy farm and can bring Taffy to work with her. Taffy enjoys a large fenced yard which is now kept squirrel free and enjoys going everywhere with her new mom. Taffy has made a lot of friends already and is loving her new life.

Aspen found her ideal family with a couple who have been waiting for her to be ready for adoption since they saw the photo we posted of her arrival from Manitoba. They had plenty of experience with large, powerful breeds and were quite capable of handling a Malamute/Akita mix and ensuring that she grows to be a well socialized, well trained, but mostly well loved, big dog. Aspen is called Mishka now and is loving her new home...and learning not to pester the cats...but that is a hard rule to follow when you are a puppy!

We found Noah an ideal forever family who were very experienced with Husky mixes and were wanting to welcome a young pup to their family. They had a mature Husky mix who enjoys other dogs but won′t compete with Noah for attention and will be a great role model for him. Noah is named Mowgli now and is settling in nicely to his new home. You can follow his adventures on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mowgli_theshepsky/

Tessa is a goofy and fun American Bulldog/Lab mix who found her forever home before being posted for adoption. We had a couple interested in an American Bulldog mix and once they heard about Tessa were very interested in meeting her. Tessa now lives in Brant county and enjoys a home that is surrounded by natural areas and trails, and an active and outdoorsy family that ensure that she is living her best life and joins them on their adventures.

One of our previous adoptive families was ready to add a second dog to their family and reached out to us in regards to Riggs. He and their dog Roscoe got along fabulously. Riggs is doing very well in his new home and is very much loved by his new family.

Little Christina was quite the project for us. She came to us with a damaged eye and wonky back leg. We set about fixing all her problems, her fosters showed her what love and care looked like and helped her on her way to a happy and pain free life. She lost an eye and had to have specialist surgery on her knee but it was all worth it and she proved to us how much stamina and spunk she packed into her little body. Christina found her forever home with a couple in Waterloo who fell in love with this little character of a dog, and they renamed her Athena...goddess of wisdom and strength. Quite fitting!!

Puddin′ found the best home and family in Burlington! He has kids in his new home to play with and he is settling in very well. He has an active family who will have no trouble keeping this busy puppy well exercised and happy. Puddin′ is called Timber now and we think that this name suits him well now that he is growing so fast!

Willie found his forever family with a couple who love Labs and were looking for a Lab type buddy for their dog. They met Willie and knew that he was the one for them! Willie is loving time spent playing with his new sister and being her constant shadow. Willie is very happy in his new home and is settling in well. He is named Wendel now and we couldn′t be happier for him!

Genie found a special home within our own PDR family. One of our foster families was looking to add a dog to their family and to be a buddy for their dog Jordie. Genie was exactly what they were looking for and we are happy to announce that she has found her forever home!

Noelle found her perfect home in Kitchener with a couple who had a mature Maltese X and knew that Noelle would make a great friend and companion to their dog. Noelle responded very well to her new little friend and seemed to really like the idea of having a look-alike bestie. Noelle is greatly loved by her new family and is settling in well to her new home. She is called Lucy now and has a wonderful future of being spoiled and adored.

Skyla found herself a wonderful forever home in Newmarket with an active couple and a German Shepherd big sister to show her the ropes and help her with her confidence. Skyla has fit right in and is having a great time with her new family. She is named Camper now and has a wonderful life of fun adventures ahead.

We had no idea why our sweet little Pretty was getting no interest; seriously, who could resist this little face? And she is just the happiest little dog, so cuddly and friendly. But it seems fate had a role in Pretty′s destiny and the powers that be knew that she was right where she should be, with her foster family, now her forever family!! We happily celebrate this ″foster fail″ with her family and know that Pretty couldn′t have found a better home. She travels well with them, her extended family loves her, and she adores her foster siblings, cuddling with one, rough housing with the other. Once ″big dog″ lovers, this couple now sees exactly why little dogs are so special as well. We are thrilled!

Rayna found her forever home in Guelph and is greatly loved by her new family. She has a nice big yard to play in and her has claimed a little couch as her own comfy resting place. She has also made friends with the in laws German Shepherd so has a buddy to play with. Rayna is greatly loved and we couldn′t be happier for her!

Our sweet boy Milhouse found his forever home in Kitchener with a couple who love Chihuahua′s and had a spot open in their home and hearts for our senior, special needs boy. Milhouse joins a pack of 2 other Chihuahua′s and a senior bigger dog where he fits right in and gets to snuggle on the dog beds with them. Milhouse quite enjoys snuggle time with other dogs so this suits him perfectly. He is settling in nicely and we are so happy that he gets to enjoy his time now being adored, spoiled, and getting everything his heart desires!

Rizzo found her ideal home with a woman who works from home and was looking for a new companion and friend. She was attracted to Rizzo′s loving personality and knew when she met her that this was meant to be her dog. We love that Rizzo is so comfortable in her new home and has claimed the back of the couch as her spot! She has been named Saucy now and her new mom is quite in love with her.
